Scrap Blending Service – Custom Fibre Batts & Handspun Yarn
Breathe new life into your fibre scraps.
Turn your leftover yarn ends or sentimental fibre scraps into a gorgeous new fibre batt — blended with soft, high-quality NZ wool fibre. Whether you want a batt to spin yourself, or you want me to handspin it for you, this service helps you preserve memories and reduce waste, all while creating something beautiful.
What You Supply:
30g of fibre scraps — yarn ends, roving offcuts (natural fibres preferred).
These should be clean and free from grease, dirt, or elements that could harm my equipment.
What I Add:
20g of locally sourced NZ wool fibre (primarily Corriedale), to add strength and cohesion to your scraps. Leave me to choose a complementary colour, or give me some guidance on the colour/s you’d like it blended with.
Important notes:
Scraps need to be a minimum of 4cm in length (no need to cut to length — I’ll sort this!)
Yarn will be freeform/artisan spun — I embrace the organic nature of mixed scraps, so thickness will vary.
Each batt or skein is one of a kind — no two will ever be exactly the same.
Perfect for sentimental scraps (baby knits, hand-dye experiments) or zero-waste crafters.
Scraps can be sent to me at buyers cost or dropped off to me for free.
Turnaround time varies depending on availability. As this is a slow process, please expect to be waiting a few weeks.
